James Cook

Let him ‘Cook.’ Bills riding RB into playoffs

The Buffalo Bills have been on a hot streak of late.

They have won the last 3 weeks game and have fought their way back into playoff contention.

What may be surprising to some is it has been the legs of second year running back James Cook that has carried them to knocking on the playoff’s front door.

Cook has run for over 300 yards in the last three games including one touchdown.

He also has caught 2 touchdowns coming out the backfield in that span.

He was named AFC Offensive Player of the Week after his rushing performance against the Dallas Cowboys in Week 15.

This season Cook ranks third in rushing yards behind Christian McCaffrey and Kyren Williams.

It’s a welcome change of pace for a team that had been putting so much pressure on Josh Allen to carry the load week in and week out.

Interim offensive coordinator Joe Brady has used Cook in a steady way which has led to spark for Buffalo.

Cook does have a Pro Football Focus grade of 75.3 for the season.  His running will be crucial to carry the Bills to the postseason.  They are streaking at the right moment and will be a team no one wants to face if they get into the dance.
