Dolphins’ Pili has another reason to watch the hardcourt this year

As the WNBA continues to rise in popularity, one Miami Dolphin that may be watching more intently is Brandon Pili.

Pili’s younger sister, Alissa, was the eighth overall pick in the WNBA Draft on April 15th.

She was drafted by the Minnesota Lynx.

Alissa Pili played her first three years of. She transferred to the Utah Utes during her fourth year of eligibility.

She was named Pac-12 player of the year in 2023.

She’ll begin her WNBA career with the Lynx.

Their first game of the season is on May 14th against the Seattle Storm.

Brandon Pila was an undrafted free agent for the Dolphins in 2023.

He made the final team’s roster in September, was waived on November 4th and resigned to the practice squad later that week.

He recorded his first two tackles in the Dolphins blow out win over the Denver Broncos in Week 3. Brandon Pili was signed to a future/free agent contract in January of 2024 after Miami’s loss to the Chiefs.

He will look to compete for a roster spot, the same as his sister in the WNBA.
