Christian Wilkins

Christian Wilkins’ deal not only a win for Raiders. It’s also relief for two division rivals he’s dominated

Josh Allen, Aaron Rodgers and the Patriots future starting quarterback blew a sigh of relief on Monday as the Las Vegas Raiders signed free agent defensive tackle, Christian Wilkins.

Wilkins had been playing for the Miami Dolphins since they drafted him in 2019.

Wilkins had 20.5 sacks in his career.

He had nine sacks a year ago.

Five and a half of those sacks came against the AFC East a season ago.

He also had five tackles for a loss against the division.  Wilkins is set to be paired in Vegas next season with perennial Pro Bowler Maxx Crosby.

NFL Network insider Ian Rappaport announced Wilkins and the Raiders agreed to a four-year deal worth a base value of $110 million, with $84.75 million of it guaranteed.

The only team that Wilkins and the Raiders will face next year are Miami.

The Dolphins opted not to franchise tag Wilkins.  His loss does signal a loss on the defensive line for the team.

Wilkins was a second team All Pro by Pro Football Focus (PFF) in 2021.
